Souperbowl of Caring

Saturday, February 4th & Sunday, February 5th

St. John Lutheran Church Food Pantry is a Souperbowl of Caring "Receiving Charity."  If your church/group/youth group is looking for a recipient for your food or financial gifts, please contact us at 815.557.9702 x 107.  You may also sign up online at souperbowl.org

The 7th Annual St. John Souperbowl of Caring collects donations for our food pantry.  St. John Confirmation Youth will collect donations before and after worship at all worship services, Saturday, February 4th and Sunday, February 5th.  100% of the proceeds benefit our pantry by providing milk to our hungry clients.

Faith Lutheran Church in Joliet, IL is collecting financial donations for St. John as well.  All of the proceeds from Faith Lutheran Church will benefit our hungry neighbors via a mobile food event partnership!  Date to be announced soon.

Westminster Presbyterian Church in Joliet, IL is collecting financial donations for St. John during February in conjunction with Souperbowl of Caring.  All of the proceeds from their collections will purchase food in March for our regular pantry day clients.

NIFB Full on Faith Week Event at St. John

Saturday, February 18th

In conjunction with Northern Illinois Food Bank’s Full on Faith Week, we will be hosting a packing event at St. John Lutheran Church to benefit our hungry neighbors. Individuals and groups are encouraged to join us. Children over 8 years old are welcome! *Space is limited—Registration is required*

Partnership opportunities are available for all corporate, community, families, and faith based charities to sponsor an event.  The cost is $2,000 for 30,000 lbs. of food and a morning of amazing fellowship, kindness, and community.   Volunteer opportunities open on February 1st.  

Book Drive


We accept children and adult books to give to our clients.  Books may be donated to the food pantry through the church office during regular church hours M-F, 8:30am - 4:30pm.  Thank you!
